As you create your shipment record, you can define what types of packages you will need to contain the products you have added to this shipment record.
You can define any number of package types for your shipment; boxes, crates, skids, pallets, etc.
Adding Packages to a Shipment
- In the Shipment Wizard application, create or find the shipment record for which you want to define the Packages information.
- From the Packing submenu, select Packages.
- The Packages screen appears. You can increase the default number of packages of 5 if necessary.
- Use the drop-down to select the package type.
- Provide the quantity of those packages.
- Provide all other necessary details in the fields provided.
- Be sure to click "Save."
Adding Products to Packages
Once you have added packages, you will see a new button, "Insert Products" in the Packaging Containers. This will allow you to add products within this shipment to the Packages. Only add the products that are going into that specific Package.
- Click "Insert Products."
- A new window will appear that shows each package and the product with quantities included with this shipment.
- Type each quantity of the number available for each product that will be in each respective package.
- Click "Save"
Deleting Packages from a Shipment
- In the Shipment Wizard application, create or find the shipment record for which you want to define the Packages information.
- From the Packing submenu, select Packages.
- The Packages screen appears. Click on "Insert Products" to see if any products are within a package. Packages cannot be deleted if there are products within the package.
- If there are products within a package, select the "Delete" checkbox and click "Save."
- Go back to the Package screen.
- Check the box next to the package you wish to delete. Click "Save."
